COVID-19 Protocols FAQ

UPDATE: Please note that the 2022 COVID Supplemental Paid Sick Leave expired on December 31, 2022. Any unused SPSL hours are no longer available, therefore, employees who test postive for COVID may need to use any available PSL or vacation hours for any time missed due to isolation requirements that do not allow them to report to work.

What should I do if I test positive for COVID-19?

If you test positive for COVID-19 you should:

  • Notify Human Resources and your supervisor right away
    • If you are at school/work at the time of receiving your results, you should leave campus immediately after notifying HR and your supervisor
  • Upload confirmation of a positive test result to the COVID Test Portal
    • Confirmation of test results should not be emailed directly to HR
  • Enter your absence(s) into the district absence management system (Frontline)
    • Be sure to enter your absence as a “COVID-related” absence

Everyone, regardless of vaccination status or lack of symptoms should stay home and isolate for at least 5 days

What should I do if I am experiencing COVID-like symptoms?

  • Get tested right away
    • If you test positive, follow instructions above
  • Re-test within 3-5 days, if first test result was negative
  • If you are unable to test or choose not to test, isolate until symptoms are resolving or until after Day 10.
  • Wear a well-fitting mask around others for a total of 10 days, especially indoors.

What should I do if I have been in Close Contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?

  • No Isolation Required (Unless you are symptomatic)
  • Test within 3-5 days
  • Wear a well-fitting mask around others for a total of 10 days, especially indoors.
  • If you test positive on Day 5, follow isolation guidelines below.
  • If symptoms develop, test and stay home.

When can I return to work after isolating due to symptoms and/or testing positive for COVID-19?

Isolation can end after day 5 if;

  • Symptoms are NOT present AND a diagnostic Specimen collected on Day 5 or later tests negative
  • If unable to test or choosing not to test, and symptoms are not present or are resolving, isolation can end after Day 10.
  • If fever is present, isolation should be continued until fever resolves.
  • If symptoms, other than fever, are not resolving, continue to isolate until symptoms are resolving or until after Day 10.
  • Wear a well-fitting mask around others for a total of 10 days, especially indoors.
